I would add to that list original paint, not just spec-correct color. Repaint in spec color is better than repaint in random color but worse than paint that came out of factory paint guns.
Also not sure about paint to sample for those old cars. If someone bought a car in a PTS shade similar to modern Seal Gray or Artic Silver, that today looks common and boring, does that add a lot of value compared to long lost colors that were standard at the time, but which you never see anymore on modern cars, like ruby red, aubergine, bamboo beige etc.? I think not.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that "absolute" color (is it a nice, unusual for today, shade, regardless of whether it was standard or to sample) trumps "relative" color (special order but banal and boring), in my view.
