Hurricane Grace made landfall in the Yucatan
Why would people live in the Yucatan? or eastern Mexico..
Mexico City was affected... hundreds of miles from the coast
Why would anyone live there??
Why would anyone live near the San Andreas fault? or the Yellowstone Basin?

I assume in your haste to hostility, you missed the part in my question about areas that are destroyed semi-regularly. The storm that messed up the NE recently happens every 100 years or so? Not exactly my definition of semi-regular. It's ok.
