I looked seriously at electric vehicles under 25k (new/used), there just isn't anything out there yet that I could live with.
The Leaf and i3 got serious consideration, but I don't have 220 at home, and both would have to be charged up to full every day. Plus I could not even visit my mom in either of them, range is too limited.
I have a 25 mile drive to work, mostly a down a curvy country road with horse farms on it and lots of wild turkeys in the open fields.
Life is too short for compromise (
Leaf and i3 are city commuters with marginal handling), I work long hours and driving is often one of my few joys that I can squeeze in.
I get only about 22.5 mpg in the car I bought, but it's all smiles. A black Inifiniti G37X Coupe (2012) with AWD, and what a hoot it is. This car makes me want to drive to work.
My next car will be electric, the guy at the stereo store had a G37X Coupe that he put 250,000 miles on before he sold it. I have about 100,000 on mine, so I have 8-10 years before I go electric now.
