Glen, the oil in a tank with the engine revving looks like the head of a pint of Guinness, advanced computational fluid dynamic 3D analysis using CAD data takes some of the guess work out but not all
All cars will record X (longitudinal), Y (lateral) and Z (vertical) loads, from memory 10G is used when calculating components/structures for bump ie Z loads and 6G for cornering ie Y loads
I'm no Rain Man so could well be wrong. I'll ask a stress engineer friend and confirm back if you're interested
