It was a great car show. The morning started out at 72 and low humidity and a nice breeze and we were sitting in the shade behind my car. As people came over to look at my car I showed them the interior, talked about the many road trips, track evens and the fun I have had in the car. Then I steered them to the ballot. As every car came through registration, the taped a 8.5x11 ballot with info on the car, and a QR code that all anyone had to do was point the cell phone camera at, and it would pull up a web page, with that ca and a button to vote for it. I got a lot of votes that way.
I ended up winning the Porsche class against lots of much newer Porsches, even a 2020 911 Turbo S, and a 2020 GT4, and others. Old guys (and cars) rule!
There was one 914 so I did not have the oldest Porsche or the only air cooled one.
By 2:30 the temps were up to low 90s and still low humidity. In the shade it was OK. It was like the old frog in hot water bit, the temps went up slowly and we were actually comfortable. The trophys were handed out at 3:30 and it was hot, and I got mine, and jumped in the car and cranked up the AC to max. It was nice to get home and get a shower.
