The human mind is a funny thing. It can REALLY screw itself over. As I said to somebody else recently, this is an example of what occurs when individuals start to believe that they are unaccountable and the "rules don't apply to them". This guy was a 3rd-generation lawyer/prosecutor from a "respected" family that appears to hold a LOT influence over law enforcement and the criminal justice in this particular multi-county corner of South Carolina. In this case, it took 3 generations for the sickness to really take root. (The two sons would be part of the 4th). Often times it only takes two or none at all. The surviving son should be moving out of the area and and changing his last name. There will be no rehabilitating it once everything comes to light.
I hope the whole corrupt cabal goes down in glorious, cleansing flames.
