I painted them in a shed that is one of those portable site office buildings that you see around construction sites.

Setup is an adequate sized air compressor, ordinary water filter/regulator that came with it. Desiccant air filter, Devilbis ProLite (I think it's marketed in the US as Tekna) with 1.3 tip. It's HVLP. PPG paints.

I think... I think, I have the metallic paint thing worked out. I do a light coat, then a coat that covers the surface and is wet - but not too wet. Then the third coat I hold the sprayer on a 45 degree angle and almost dust the last coat on so it lands but doesn't get the chance for the metallic flakes to lie down flat.

Then three coats of clear with a slow reducer so it gets to spread out flat (no orange peel) and glossy.

Disclaimer: I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but it works for me
