No! Order what is called a “repair plug” from BMW. No idea why it’s called that. For about $25 you can plug directly into the Nav harness likely located underneath the gas tank. It is switched power on a 3 minute delay. So when you switch off the bike, power to the camera shuts off 3 minutes later. On my K1300S it was below a panel on top front of the fuel tank. On my R9T it’s tie wrapped to a frame tube on the left side of the tank. Find a forum covering your model….I’m sure the info is there. If not, stop by a dealership and ask one of the techs.

I’ve done that on several BMW bikes from 2012 to my current 2019.
