997.2 Turbo crank pulley

I am new to this group and I have a new to me 2011 997.2 Turbo cab manual. After about 500 miles of driving I would get a Ting Ting Ting noise from the rear of the engine upon hard stopping only. Turns out the out sleeve (steel ring) of the crankshaft pulley has come off of the pulley and is loosely trapped between the pulley and the bracket that hold the engine to the rear engine mounts. Hard stopping shoves it onto the spinning pully, ting ting ting, acceleration slides it back out of the way no noise.
Questions:
1. Does the pulley need to be replace, or does the ring just need to be pressed on to the
pulley.
2. Is it a harmonic dampener or just a pulley with a steel sleeve to keep the serpentine
belt from rotating off.
3. Does the engine need to be dropped or just the muffler removed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
