Obesity and COVID

A thread in PARF raised this issue and after doing a bit of reading, it’s clear that this is a worthy topic of serious discussion. Regardless of the reason, the obvious link between the two seems to be mostly ignored in the media. Yet, addressing obesity in the context of COVID could make a profound difference in hospitalizations and deaths.

As indicated by the CDC publication, up to 78% of severe COVID occurred in patients with high, or very high BMI. And worse yet, this is not new information...yet it’s been mostly ignored throughout communication with the public at large. Meanwhile, obesity in America stupidly heads in the wrong direction. Can lives be saved by educating children and adults on this topic?
