THe point is that there are issues that make Covid more dangerous.
For instance, if you have COPD, severe asthma, diabetes, etc... (including if you are obese) then you are much more in danger from Covid than if you do not have those things. Your buddy may have been correct. If he had been obese, then there's a higher chance that he'd have died vs recovering. Thin and healthy doesn't mean you won't get it and won't be really impacted, but it
could mean that you'll recover. My buddy that passed away last week was pretty thin and healthy.
Anyone can get sick and/or die from Covid, but there are certain things that make you much more likely to die.
