Another update until we get things worked out. Yesterday he came over to me and let me pet him and loved getting his ears scratched. He rewarded me with all kinds of purrrs and head butts. He let me pet his back and fuss with his tail and when I ran my hand down his back he put his butt straight up into the air like nothing was wrong. He flopped over and onto his back and loved getting his belly scratched. He seemed like a perfectly normal cat. No noticeable swelling and he was eating, drinking, using his litter box. He seemed totally fine.
However, this morning he's back to acting like he's injured again. He is peeing outside the litter box. He's terrified of any sort of noise or movement. Even opening up a bag of treats and he hides behind his box. He won't stand up, just scurries along. He hasn't eaten since last night. So back to square one.
We're still trying to get a shelter, humane society or organization to take him as I already have 3 cats and he is way too timid to deal with mine. We have a few leads but being Monday morning, it's busy out there. Thanks you guys for wanting to help the little guy out. If none of these leads work out and we end up taking care of him then I'll let you guys know.
