Wow, thanks for all the great info. It's at a friend's house now, he decided he didn't want to mess with. Will get it this weekend and use all the good advice.
I did mount it about 9 feet high so it wouldn't get so much dust and debris and almost certainly sanded aluminum dust in it. If I can get it working, I'll put some sort of case around it to protect it better.
