Good for you boys on getting out doing a young men sport. I stopped riding completely since covid two years ago. A little mover a month ago, I started riding again. After three weeks of riding, I went out with the group on a training ride, only to get beat up again. This past Saturday, I went hard, but was only to hang on half way through the ride. Slowly, I am getting further and further with them. I know, after 50, if you don't use it you WILL lose it and it takes forever to get back in shape.
After the ride this Saturday, I came home, laid down on the floor trying to stretch my legs. This was around noon. I fell asleep instead, and woke up only to discovered wife and kids went off to lunch and left me there on the floor sleeping. I was awaking by the slamming door at 3pm.

I feel exactly like this. I had covid and had only minor symptoms for a few days. All but stopped riding for a few months and am now just barely able to do a 25 mile ride at 16 mph avg. just not feeling well and not recovering well. Im not able to keep my heart rate up over 170 ish, things have changed, even my Garmin has noticed. I do take a recovery powder that helps but I’m sore and tired after every ride.
