I copied Harpo's process. I used 6 threaded mounts (2 middle, 2 each end) because when I tried Freds idea of only 2, the panel would pivot in the middle. Even with slip on rubber windlass. The big rectangular reflector mounting holes arent the easiest to work around. Big washers inside the panel to cover the hole. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE NUTS. JB Weld is strong but it will let go if you do. I think it has good shear strength but minimal pull strength. I tried Harpos idea of the plastic spacers but each one was different on my car due to panel variations. I was losing patience fitting them on a freshly painted car, trying not to scratch anything.

Im not sure if Fred looked at this but would a panel that slips over the reflector be easier to make? Definitely easier to install. Or weld studs to the inside? In hindsight I should have done that before painting it.
