One tip I have learned with plastic or metal models. You can use Pledge Floor Gloss to get a really nice shine. You simply brush it on and walk away, let it dry. It makes clear parts like windows and windshields super clear and will also hide scratches in clear parts. It really gives the model a nice shine and protects the finish.
I put a little Floor Gloss on these two Tootsie Toys to preserve the patina.
