I put one on my roof winter of 2020. Aluminum to help with the corrosion here at the coast. It will outlive me. It was around $17K - double what an asphalt shingle roof would be, but I like the look and will get my money back should I ever sell.
You can get different colors but I wanted the most reflective to help with cooling. I have a remote thermometer in the attic and this metal roof certainly did help drop the temps a lot over the old asphalt shingle roof I had.
We did a complete tear off of the old stuff and replaced all the rotten or questionable wood pieces. Very good investment up front as this will be a big selling point, should I ever sell.
No issues whatsoever with noise from rains.
