Probably the flexibility in installation has been the reason for opting to have even split, this gives more options for putting this into the car and probably having uneven split would have gained only very little. This is also the reason not to mark one of the connections as input.
Actually CR AC condenser is Porsche 996 face-lift condenser that was also used in both 997 generation.



In 991/981 Porsche continues to use even split condensers. This time it flows from one end to the other and back. (sorry about bad picture editing but you get the point )


Although some condenser manufacturers make unevenly split condersers that have more volume for gas to flow than liquid, I trust that Porsche has made good design for their condenser and now that CR AC uses the very same design it is good enough for me - in horizontal installation. Jonny or someone needs to convince me that the vertical installation would be OK as well
