lol- I was just on a bicycle framebuilding website. Saw this post regarding a question about reusing old lugs. The last sentence reminded me of myself.
"The frame builder's job is to contrive a safe correct blemish free frame to attach a safe correct blemish free groupo. Normally there are restraints which limit the builder's time and money and preclude investing effort in salvage parts and certainly never for a customer's new bike. On the other hand, if the customer says" these are my special lugs that i love, and i must replace the tubes, " then it opens the door to the madness of rehabilitating those castings. My fear would be over heating those surfaces that would never accept solder or brass.
