You'd think it would be easy enough, but nooooooooooooo.

I wonder how hard it would be to ditch the old buckles (if the belt was good, but the buckle sucked), and get newer ones? I'm sure there's a YT video somewhere. Something like:

https://www.trafalgarstore.com/products/30mm-angled-harness-leather-belt?variant=32356661264471&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2020-09-15&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwNWKBhDAARIsAJ8HkhfZ6y67Az0iuOWfUC0q t0t4epnCjbIVebCW8E9qAKtE-2Lz9l6mWggaAmmvEALw_wcB

Now you've got me squandering the rest of my lunch- Here's another buckle with what seems to be a removable watch type pin for easy attachment to an existing belt:

https://www.google.com/search?q=belt+buckles+for+men&rlz=1C1SQJL_enUS876US876&sxsrf=AOaemvKv2fB6Y1tQLZ04VGLdil-U3oojCQ:1633020894958&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=2ahUKEwjz3erylKfzAhV2QvEDHfi3DjgQ_AUoAXoECAEQA w&biw=1536&bih=722&dpr=1.25#spd=18026246095763575228

There must be other types like this for easy refitting.
Wow, that polished brass buckle is $65. Hank's sells a solid brass or solid stainless buckles for $16 and/or $19.
