All of that is logical. The street bum look is not the way to get the good ladies.
I learned long ago many women (not all) will ignore a nice guy with those traits, and go for the bad boy. She believes the bad boy will never hit her again, and she can fix him and make him into the perfect man. I saw it happen many times.
The nice guys are just for "lets just be friends" zone.
I am just so lucky I found a perfect wife over 30 years ago. I don't think I could bother with dating again.
