It was a different world, even in the 80's.
I looked up all the T/M/S in my log book:
T-34B/C, Jet Ranger A/B/C, T-2 and A-4, KA-6 (I was stashed at VT-10 and VA-42 before flight school and got backseat rides), F-4, TC-4C (again, at Oceana), P-3, S-3 (at VX-1 in Pax), H-2, H-3, H-46 (with the Marines for my initial NVG quals), 60B/F/H, UH-60L, 53E (at the Sikorsky factory) Whisky Cobra, old Huey's, MD-500, single engine Cobra (with the Maryland National guard) and, finally, backseat missile chase in an F-18.
