I hope you went ahead and made the appointment. You can always cancel.
Just do it. It's not going to fix itself, and you don't need the constant reminder that something is whack. I've had two, left and right a few years apart. Both are healed and the scars have faded.
An added bonus, while you're healing you are absolutely restricted from lifting anything even slightly heavy or awkward, so you get to sit back and let others around you do the muscle work.
