The story has nothing to do with the statute of limitations as he was caught almost immediately, convicted and incarcerated. Maybe this is what the man meant when he said,"Let he who is without sin..."
I am surprised he was able to get off the downward spiral of criminal activity. Most don't manage to do that.
I guess sometimes you have to hit bottom first.
