There is another aspect of Covid. It is not just "you die or you do not". People who were intubated or sedated and put on a vent and survived are not just walking home and continuing their life as it was. They often suffer from post-Covid complications and long term issues. Thus, "surviving" Covid in mild form or "the hard way"has a large impact on quality of life afterwards.
