Came up with these over the years, decided to write them down a few years back and share them:

1 - If you don't want my opinion, that's fine - don't ask me for it.

2 - If you don't want my help, that's fine - don't ask me for it.

3 - If you repeatedly violate Rule #1 & #2, don't act shocked when I tell you not to waste any more of my time.

4 - Shut up. Talking in circles doesn't make you less wrong/right, it proves you're not listening, which in turn proves you're not thinking, which in turn demonstrates an inability to see outside perspectives.

5 - Use all your senses. Just because you don't 'hear' anything doesn't mean you're not being 'told' something. You can learn more from what's NOT being said than you can by what's actually said.

6 - Get over yourself, you're not that important. Flush your ego and think outside yourself. "Me" and "I" didn't make the whole.

7 - Accept that you can never, always, be right.

8 - Monitor your tone and approach and adjust as needed. Inclusive can quickly degrade to patronizing.

9 - the 80/20 rule applies to everything.

10 - People are a lot smarter than they're given credit. Don't ever underestimate.
