Over the decades I have had 6 pick up trucks. Two Ranger long bed 4x4s and the others were full size regular cab 2wd with 8' boxes. I liked them all for their utility and worked a couple of them hard. It was interesting how they got more refined as manufacturers added more sound deadening and features. I have done 600+ mile days in a couple of them and enjoyed the drives.
However there came a time when I didn't need something like that in my driveway. It has been 3 years since I sold the last truck. We added a trailer hitch to the wife's Golf Sportwagon and borrow the BIL'S 10' trailer when needed. I very seldom miss the $100 fill ups.
If I need to haul something larger, I'll rent.
