In the summer of 1972, a buddy and I took his 64 on a road trip from Houston to Washington DC and back. On the home bound leg it became a real challenge. The worn clutch started slipping whenever you tried to accelerate hard so you really had to nurse it along. Then the exhaust manifold on the straight 6 came loose and about did us in with carbon monoxide. Rolled all the windows down and just kept going. Stupid kids.
