About 1982 or 83. The rear springs were just shot, and I had stiff Bilstien shocks on it. A good bump could compress the suspension, and the shocks would not rebound fast enough. Right after this photo, I replaced the rear coil springs and the bounce went away.

I have not changed at all, except I grew a beard) in about 1975 or 1976. The old print had faded a lot. The 914 was Olympia Blue. I still had the original wheels on it there. It was a 1974 2.0 custom ordered to my specs. Appearance package, sway bars, no AC and Olympia Blue. It took them 6 months to get my car in so I drove the dealerships VW Rabbit.
