I was wondering the same thing. It's the supports for the level above in the ceiling. Watch as he drives in. They are on both sides, both slightly lower than 'mom's attic'. I'm assuming there's a low one out of camera view as he plows straight forward at the end as well. This gives me goosebumps as I was driving a uhaul all weekend myself!
