Here I don't think there is a "better," only a different. I became a smash burger convert some time ago but still love a grilled burger. In the same vein, the OK burger and White Castles are just as good as griddled and grilled. Same goes for steaks. I typically do cast iron because you can make a pan sauce. But wood grilled ribeyes can't be beat either.
Not better, just different. YMMV.
These WCs were phenomenal as were the truffle fries.
