what's got two thumbs and can now boss people around?
thanks you guys. i received some solid advice from some of you guys. and some laughs from others. always appreciated.
i did some serious self reflection for the past few weeks. i knew moving forward i was going to put up my BEST efforts in the promotion interview. i studied, and practiced in a mirror. i anticipated possible questions and ran the answers thru my head constantly. i owned it. it was actually fun, if i am being totally honest. no nerves. i wasn't sure i was going to accept anyways. it was a WebEX panel interview. cake!
i got offered the position!. i had some leverage, so i asked for a few concessions.
i took a long hard look at myself, i figured i was more nervous about the CHANGE, and less the job. i do not love change. never have. bottom-line, i couldn't stomach going backwards. going back to my old position is going backwards. onward and forward, always. my new job, which is right where i am now today, starts Monday!! my work load got halved since we also hired a second supervisor. i was managing two areas. now only one.
i can take a breath. now to go celebrate and buy myself something. my wife is happy as well.
