I’m no expert, though I am in the market and currently trying to convince myself to pay up for a 912.
At the moment, a decent 912 (decent being without rust holes and running) sells for $30k and up.
It’s got to be worth at least your $40k. I would think closer to $50k personally, if it’s up and running.
