God I hate seeing unsupported spans. The sill plate doesn't look wide enough either.
There are two stories going on top of this one. Architect/owner designed. A giant mess all summer and piles of uncovered wood going grey spilling onto the sidewalk with the dirt. The foundation blocks are missing half their grout. No fill pour or rebar and a lot of earth weight uphill. I mentioned it to the boss man who shrugged. 10 out of 15 of his guys are out sick.
Another neighbor built a 2.5-3 car wide garage and the massive header was also sitting on half a cinder block.
