Replaced the water pump at the Armadillo Ranch. The 40 year old Ruth Berry jet pump was on its last legs sprouting leaks all over. Finally found a 3/4 Hp Goulds Deep Well Jet Pump.
The hand dug well is over 140 years old. The concrete pipe sections were stacked one on top of the other as the dirt and gravel at the bottom was dug out and lifted out with buckets. As the hole got deeper the pipe sections settled into it and another section was placed on top. They hit water at about 40 feet and kept going to 50 to give a 10 foot deep pool. Here is looking down after the old pipes to the siphon venturi (jet) and foot valve have been pulled out.
