^ This for sure. I have a 1987 Coupe, Venetian Blue, upper 70's mileage, basically the same work and mods as OP. 7 and 8 period correct Fuchs (still have 6/7s) Dave Mason shifter, 370cm proto, h4's, redone suspension to stock sport, powdercoated etc. All original parts in boxes and in an afternoon anyone could put back on. Needed this discussion for insurance, but it makes driving them harder IMHO or at least more nervous. Oh, mine has black leather sport seats too.
