Got a pair of Oticon hearing aids from the VA. Stationed on a carrier in Nam, noise all day and night. Hearing deteriorated over the years, cannot hear low db sounds. Wife is soft spoken, and I can’t hear her half the time, so off to the VA I went to have a hearing test, got a pair at no cost to me. They were about $6K and Audiologist tuned them in via computer. I can get a new pair every 6 years and I wear them mostly around the house so I can talk with my wife whom I still have trouble hearing especially when she’s in another room talking so softly that I can’t hear her even with the volume turned up. She gets mad, I just shrug and point to my hearing aids and tell her to speak up! Kinda lost cause having a conversation with her.
