Yesterday I did the tear out including a tear down of my palm seedling nursery and some fencing and today I started the build of an extension of the front deck. This will make the third phase, and I'm already brain storming about Phase IV.
This third phase will include the courtyard off my master bedroom.
The fencing around it was put in back in '08 and has survived quite a few hurricanes and tropical storms. I'm looking forward to putting some new in but that will be the last step and later on.
I picked up lumber at HD this morning, finished the site prep, set all the 4x4's, unloaded the rest of the lumber, and then went back tonight and picked up (28) ten foot 5/4 deck boards. That should be enough to get half of the decking done and then I will work on the second half, which will be a little trickier going around 3 mature Foxtail Palms in a triangular pattern that are staying.
