I just went on a short errand in the Elky and seconds after starting, it popped up an Service Engine Soon alert for a few seconds, and then it went out. So it was a transitory failure and not a hard fail.

I have not seen any flash of the SES light in about 10 years. I had to dig into the back of a cabinet to find the code reader I bought when I converted to fuel injection 11 years ago. Then I had to remember how to set it up, and read the codes. After a few tries, I learn that the throttle position sensor is too low. I have not touched anything under the air filter in the last 2,500 miles of so since my last oil change and filter changes. It did not change adjustment on its own. It must be wear.

So I am betting the sensor is just wearing out. Now I need to figure out what part I need. The system was a cobbled together system I converted from a GM throttle body from a Chevy S-10.
