From my state: https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/coronavirus/8-dead-dozens-infected-with-covid-19-due-to-outbreak-at-connecticut-nursing-home/2652161/

87/89 cases in a nursing home outbreak were in vaccinated people. 8 deaths, all with comorbidities, all vaccinated.

At some point, you need to ask yourself what more can be done.

Absolutely and I agree with you. Right now these vaccines are the best we have. What island is doing is discounting what we have in favor of the “If you get it and you don’t die or have long haul symptoms you’ll be so much better off” theory. Sure, that’s probably true for the people who are lucky enough to just have a minor case. I also realize that this is the vast majority of the population as well. It doesn’t change the fact that even a small percentage of people who contract Covid who succumb to it will be an astronomical number of casualties. 5+ million people have died already. I hope there’s a better vaccine coming down the pipeline and even more so I hope there will be better and easier treatments to reduce the severity and reduce fatalities.
