On a side note, I have a 742 in 30-06 which is semi auto. It is really no different than a pump as it takes time to recover from the recoil. A .223 does give faster follow up shots but that is a Coyote cartridge.
The AR platform is very accurate in general so I see no problems with it. It is no different to me than a 760 Carbine with a factory 10 round mag. Now, if I could only find one in good shape.

Just a note: the "AR-10" is not standardized like the AR-15. There are two differnet AR style 10"'s. The Armalite AR15 and the DPMS style. Many parts are not interchangable. from the Armalite to the DPMS.
It is my understanding the Armalite AR-10 is only availalbe in 308-762x51 so do someresearch before purchasing.
