Yeah, both of my sons grew up shooting single action revolvers, lever action rifles, black powder single shots, muzzle loaders, and all of that. Both are extremely competent with any of them, all the way back to flint locks.
Alas, their tastes run to the "black rifle" genre. FAL's, AR15's, etc. But you know what? They are both extremely enthusiastic shooters. And, well, they have drug me kicking and screaming into the 20th century, introducing me to, and teaching me to properly handle their choice in firearms. It's been a lot of fun. I'm just happy they grew up to be shooters, and did not lose interest once they started making their own way out there.
