It could be kidney stones(calcium deposits which possibly can be caused from very high doses of VitC).
Or the cause could be something else blocking the urethra such as a UTI.
My other 3yo kitty was in a sudden extremely foul mood one day and wouldn't let me get near him. Took him into the vet the next day and was told his kidneys had completely failed possibly due to being clipped too early blocking the urethra. Had to put him down that day. It happened that fast..
It could be a prostate issue, including the big C.
Sooner is better for getting to the doc. As in now. That's your most important blood filter. Cars don't last very long with a clogged oil filter. Drink 1/4cup apple cider in a glass of water and do the deed to see if anything improves in the meantime.
