This virus has been circulating around for 2 years now. The first year had 37-38% exposure. Many never knew they had it. Year 2 has to put us well over 50% exposure.
It is quite possible that the only thing making the vaccines look even slightly viable is the overlap of natural immunity with vax'd. (at least some vax'd people will have strong immunity from actual contact/infection.)
So yeah, sugar pill may have been better.
