My wife's grandparents bought 100 acres on a river as a farm a long time ago. This is 90 minutes from my home and just down the street from Paul of Mustang fame.

This place is amazing. It is beautiful. Soul affirming. Close enough that we can go often. Remote enough that we get away. The stars are bright and the peace is substantial. We have a flock of turkey that were flying up an apple tree and dropping apples to their buddies last I was there. Pretty cool to see a turkey run away with a prize. I saw my first fox last time as well. Never seen a fox in the wild before in all my 55 years. My son caught a steelhead in the river this summer and a number of excellent trout.

It is a large family and all the surviving siblings (4 out of 8) own a share. We are merely guests but I have told my kids that this location is sacred. They get it. We have built some structures and have all the comforts of home. It is a piece of Oregon Paradise.

Do I recommend similar? Yes.
