We built one 26 years ago on family land in Canada. The family spent summers there every year. No phone, no TV, no internet. It was wonderful, but far away.

Now that the kids are older and have lives of their own, they don't have the time to go up to the cabin. Plus, it's getting harder and harder for us to maintain the place.

So we sold it.

So we bought another place in a summer community where the kids can come over for lunch or dinner and drive home in an hour and a half. It has turned out to be a great decision.
