Good point. I'm guessing that damage would probably be an even circle around the outside.

I first saw big metal gouges but only on one side of the stud. Initially I thought there was sudden trauma or strike on just that one side like the car had been dropped without tightening the lugs. But the thing is the gouge damage is not random and not equal. A chisel of some type was probably used to remove the old lug nuts would be my best guess. idk
