I spent the first 35 years of my life going to the cottage every weekend, it got to be the boring same old-same old. Mom hated it, just meant she had to houses to clean and all the so called friends would show up for a free vacation every summer. I'm not knocking it, growing up at the cottage was a great childhood, privileged in fact, just not what the wife and I want to do.
We've decided to not buy a cottage, too expensive now anyways but we didn't want the usual RV life. Instead we're about to start building an "Exploration Explorer" based on a Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4x4 we just bought. It fits us as we loved our old Westphalia and this is sort of like a hulk sized westy.
Below isn't ours, but is somewhat like the truck we will be building.
