Let me start by saying that I never had allergies as a kid or young adult.
But in my mid 50's I started taking BP medication and I don't know if the side effect of water retention had anything to do with it but I would have "post nasal drip" at night while sleeping that would drive me nuts in the morning. Sometimes an upset stomach from swallowing mucus at night and the morning ritual of snorting, spitting and hucking loogies to clear my sinuses in the AM.
Now, since i wasn't used to allergies I had a hard time getting onboard with allergy medication. Claritan, Allegra weren't working but Zyrtec would help a bit. But according to the Wife I was a bit "agitated" after taking it.
I had looked into the Navage nasal cleaner (douche if you will) but was put off by the need to constantly buy "salt pods". I'm not a big fan of the "Razor Blade Theory" in products and continued to use my Neti Pot.
Well, I finally broke down and bought one, and Holy Hanna, what a difference! No more disgusting noises coming from the bathroom as I try and clear my sinuses in the morning. I'm a confirmed believer!
Bottom line is, if you're looking for a Christmas gift for that stuffed up person in your life give Navage a try. If they don't like it they can put it in the attic next to their Epi-Lady and Laser Disc player.
