All in on this, thanks to my wife. I suffered with asthma and skin allergies when I was a kid, then I sort of 'grew out' of it. But my profession/ hobbies included being around a lot of caustic chemicals especially in the '80's. Even with proper masks, gloves etc, I was exposed to that all day, almost every day. I slowly started a backwards slide and my allergies returned except worse. I really suffered. Had 2 sinus surgeries to correct closed up passageways.

I was on antibiotics, steroids and other crap and those made me gain weight, my health in general started declining as well as my quality of life. My wife finally convinced me to use a simple neti-pot with salt. With a week of doing that every morning I began to feel better, no yellow discharge, and my sinus swelling subsided over time. Things are back to normal, rarely having any cold, sinus or related sickness. The one thing I do is put the distilled water in the microwave to warm it. That opens me up first thing, makes the experience much better. It's a part of my morning routine. I highly recommend it.
